{Through a child's eyes}

This Christmas had an innocence about it.  For the first time, I saw this beloved holiday through eyes that had never experienced it.  A little set of blues and a little set of browns took in all the wonder of a new day.  Not just any day, Christmas Day.

M and I are responsible for making traditions that will remain with our babies.  We fill the house with smells that will one day bring them back to memories of Christmas' gone by.  We'll make this day oh so special so that they'll look forward to that feeling one gets when this joyous holiday is inching near.

Here are some pictures from today (just 9 of 130+).

Waiting to open presents.  They were so excited!

Crawling around like a crazy man.

Taking a break between toys.

M loves his new knife from Mom and K!

Coach and his shiny new lawnmower.

Trying to get a sweet twin pic, failed :)

Close, but no cigar.

Playing with our new Sit to Stands!

Yay!

Hope your Christmas was fabulous!

{last minute Christmas gift}

Sony Bloggie Touch Pocket Camcorder

Today (yes, it just occurred to us today) we decided the babies do WAY too much fun, cool, new stuff for just your average camera-even if it is a dslr.  I sent the daddy of our bunch out to hunt for some Christmas Eve deals.  Boy did he find one!

At Best Buy he found the Sony Bloggie Touch Pocket Camcorder for 50% off.  Yes, HALF price.  Needless to say, even at full price, this little guy would be worth its weight in gold around here.  My iPhone has hundreds of videos on it, now our laptop will :)

Merry Christmas, from our family to yours!
Yep, sorry lurky loo's, have to protect the innocent.

{Musings on a Christmas Eve Eve}

My posts from last year on Christmas Eve Eve and on Christmas Eve last year, really hit home JUST how much our lives have changed in one year.  My New Years Eve post from last year takes me back to those uncomfortable pregnant days (or what I thought were uncomfortable then-little did I know!), just the two of us.  It feels as if Coach and Fancy have always been here, its incredible to think back on a time when they were "baking" or not here yet at all.  What did we do with or days?!?

Here's what we do with our days now...at least partially.

Good morning sleepy heads!  Ready for breakfast.

The aftermath.  Daddy shoveling snow.

Nellie LOVES the snow!

Time in the toy pit with daddy

Can I just open this one?

Morning nap.

They staggered their naps today (yay...).  As soon as Coach woke up, Fancy dozed off.  Good thing mommy and daddy were both home today.

As soon they see the camera they smile like this.  Training em' young.  Their reaction to the beep of auto focus is to blink, I caught this milliseconds before the blink.  9 times out of 10 I'm not so lucky.

She turns the light switch on over and over.  Like her momma, she could care less about the stove.

Cranky that brother is now interested in the kitchen.

I just like to smile.  Smiling's my favorite.  Name that movie!

Pause in playtime for some daddy sugars.

I only play with these when I'm over everything else.

More daddy sugars.

He's thrilled to be playing with the donut.  Can't you tell?

Time for nap #2.

Refreshed and ready to go back into the toy pit!

My how things have changed in a year.  And I'm so glad they did :)

Oh and they're playing with toys in boxes because they're Christmas presents that I refuse to rap (due to the sheet # of them).  They see toys and instinctively migrate to them.  We just let it ride.  We'll take them out of the boxes and give them free reign on Christmas morning.  Lord help us!

[Bah f***ing humbug]

Another post full of negativity and cursing, you've been warned.

I've reached the end of my rope.  I feel like I have a big "assholes this way" sign on my back.  I've run into quite possibly every single mean spirited, nasty person in the entire state, in the last couple days.  Its the Most Wonderful Time of the Year so why are people being so fucking mean?  Isn't Christmas supposed to incite happiness and joy in all our hearts?  The spirit of Christmas totally skipped over Denver.

Last night I was getting gas on my way home from work, it was snowy and cold.  Freezing.  I see an old homeless man, barely able to walk with his cane, digging food out of the trash.  He had a wind breaker on and not much else.  My heart broke into a million pieces.  I had a backseat full of baby blankets I could have given him to keep him warm.  I had a $20 bill in my wallet that would have gotten him several meals.  After I was done pumping gas I got in my warm car and pulled out of the parking lot without helping him.  Why?  I don't know.  I had M's big fluffy coat in the back seat, we could have just bought another one.  Why didn't I help him?  Why?

Not even 10 minutes later I was sitting at a stop light waiting not so patiently for the light to turn.  The guy crossing the street (in the freezing snow) was slow getting across b/c of the weather.  The first car in line when the light turned revved their engine and had the nerve to honk and charge him-a pedestrian, to urge him to go a little faster.  What the fuck?  Where's the compassion?  The poor guy was just trying to cross a downtown Denver street, during rush hour, while it was snowing.

The icing on the cake is M's leadership.  I think its in poor taste to talk bad about leadership.  No matter how much they deserve it.  So I won't.  When does the backstabbing and vindictive behavior stop?  Who looks out of the little guy?  This situation has caused me more hate than all of them combined.

For the record, I realize how blessed we are.  I thank God every single day for my beautiful family.  I'm so grateful for what we have (jobs, friends, family).  I am just so tired of seeing the underbelly of humanity-even from people we are close to.  Its beaten me down to a point where I am literally sick that people can go out of their way to hurt others.  Where's karma when you need it?  Oh ya, karma doesn't exist, that's just some bullshit people feed you to make you feel better.

I hate the anger that's in my heart.  I hate that I am actually hoping for bad things to happen to certain people, no matter how much these people deserve to suffer miserably.  What's wrong with me?  This isn't me.

I'm sorry this is such a downer post, I just have had it.  I deleted several paragraphs b/c I'll more than likely regret a lot of what I have to say to specific people, so I just won't say it.   I've got some "happy pills" upstairs in my makeup drawer from when the babies were in the nicu and I couldn't hack it.  I never opened them, but I'm contemplating starting now.

I'm sure I'll issue an apology post tomorrow, but today (and for the last week), this is how I feel.

{pebbles}

Sweet baby Fancy's hair is FINALLY long enough to put in the world's teeniest ponytail.  Just another month or two and I bet we'll be able to do pigtails!!!

I don't have a tiny ponytail, but I do have a tooth!  Little Mr LOVES banana's and you can see the remnants of his breakfast on his face and bib.  No one ever said eating with a spoon @ *almost* nine months old was a tidy process.

How is Christmas just 6 days away?  The babies are cruising all over the place, getting into presents.  Coach even ripped open one of them.  Woops.  Now there's a barricade (that he's gotten through more than once) around the tree.  We've given up wrapping their toys.  They are WAY too interested in them when they're wrapped.  Its like they know there's something fun inside.

Its going to be fun to see them on Christmas morning.  Since the majority of their stuff is no longer wrapped, we've been letting them play with it, in the box.  Once those toys come out of the box we're in trouble!  So grateful for them.  They make everyday such a blast.  Even the tough days involve baby smiles!

{Thanksgiving in pictures}

I love how sweet he is with our babies :)

Curls!

Her new fave expression.  She pops her lips when she does this face.  She's so funny!

On the move!

Real men wear babies :)  They vacuumed the stairs and cooked!

My little man has the sweetest personality

and the looongest eyelashes

"what?  like crawling is hard?"

We love hangers!

O' Christmas tree O' Christmas tree

An ornament for Coach

and one for Fancy

one for mommy

and one for daddy

A nod to our new home!

the babies view of our sweet tree!

We had a great day!  We decorated for Christmas and watched our loves play and giggle.  Can't get much better than that, right?  Now its on to Christmastime!  I'm personally not a black Friday shopper. I'd rather have surgery without anesthesia.  I haven't ever seen a bargain *that* good.  Not one I'm willing to stay up late or wake up early and fight the crowds of crazies for anyway.  Godspeed to all you crazies :)
