{Big ole' babies}

We weighed the babies today on our home scale and we were shocked when the numbers popped up on the scales.  Fancy weighs 25lbs (65th %) and Coach weighs a whopping 27lbs (69th %)!  Holy chunks!  They have always been in the 25th - 40th % for weight.  They're getting BIG!

They've been mimicking the faces we make for a while.  I started to notice it when Fancy started copying my nervous blinking habit.  Anyway, we play this game with them where we make a face and they copy it.  Its the funniest!  Watching them interpret our expressions is hysterical!  Sometimes when they're playing I'll catch them practicing the faces we do.  So cute!

We got to skype with my dad and step mom today.  The babies said "Papa" and "Nannie" and were just generally hams.  They were in awe of the whole experience.  They've skyped several times, but I think this is the first time they've actually paid attention.  They thought it was so neat to see Papa on the screen and they kept waving and smiling.  They're the cutest.

Watching the Hatfields & McCoys on History Channel.  AMAZING.  I can't believe thsi feud is A) factual and B) went on for so long.  Over something really dumb too.  The next time we drive home (if we ever drive home) I'm definitely going through WV.  The families reportedly get along now and have reunions to commemorate the feud.  There are even trails around the area.  Someday I'll get there :)

We live in the middle of nowhere and there are farm fields on all sides and for 10 miles each way into either town.  We've spotted corn, cotton, soybeans, sweet potatoes and a handful of other things, but the biggest fields have stumped us.  Today we figured it out.  TOBACCO.  NC is a huge producer of tobacco, so this isn't a surprise.  No real point to this paragraph, its just something we've wondered for a while.  Now we know!

Happy weekend!

[gray]

Seriously?  I've been plucking mother bleeping gray hairs out of my head for the last couple days.  I noticed one and plucked it.  The legends are true, once you yank out one, three grow back in its place.  WTF, I'm 28.  How can I have gray hair?  I'm so embarrassed.  I spent my whole pregnancy growing color out of my hair in hopes that I could avoid coloring in the future-I hate the upkeep.  Well that plan just got shot to hell.  Fudge.

My guess is they started cropping up during the later part of my stressful pregnancy.  If this is the case, I'll deal.  They're well earned badges of courage :)  Time to head back to the salon...or the supermarket.  I might be a box dye person from here on out.  I pretty  much spend every last cent my hubby allows me on baby stuff.  I can live with $15 box dye to make sure my kids are stylin', right?  Right!

This weekend my grandparents came to meet the twins!  I had so much fun watching them get to know their great grand children.  Its amazing that our family now has four generations.  I just marvel at how quickly time is slipping by, I'm sure my grandparents were thinking that tenfold.  I can't imagine what its like to look into the face of your great grandchildren.  They looked pretty darn smitten :)  It was awesome!

Great Gramps, Grammy and Coach

Great Gammy, Cousin Clare and Coach

Great Gramps, Fancy and Grammy

Cousin Clarie and Pricess Fancy

Four generations!  My mom, my grandparents, Coach&Fancy, me and my cousin Clare.

It was a fabulous visit and we can't wait to see everyone again and have the twins meet the rest of the family in October!

The babies meet Papa and Nova!

My dad and step mom came to Denver to meet the babies yesterday!  These babies are the first grandchildren for my dad, so it was so amazing to see him meet them and fall in love.  He just kept saying what an amazing feeling it was to be a grandpa :)  It was such a perfect moment.  I'm so happy that he's happy.  Since M is still on the vent, they weren't allowed to hold him, but A was awake and doing well, so she was fair game.  He studied every inch of both babies and talked to the NICU nurses about M's PDA.  He was totally made for this role ;)

My step mom Nova meeting A.  Please ignore my tired lumpy post partum body in the background :)

Its amazing to share these babies with the people that love them.  Grammy (my mom) is coming in a couple days and we can't wait!  She's been itching to get her hands on these babies since she found out I was pregnant in August.  Hurry Grammy, hurry!  M & A are getting better by the day (hopefully no more setbacks) and we can't wait to see them grow and interact with our families :)  Still a little ways to go in terms of their lungs, but they are getting better.  Please keep those prayers coming!
