{Costume dry run}

I'm WAY too excited for Halloween to get here!

Fancy calls pumpkins "puh kiss" and she runs around yelling it at the top of her lungs when she sees one.  Coach says "punka".  I feel like its the same word only one is plural.  Melt.  We carved pumpkins yesterday afternoon.  They had a blast :)  We let them dig out the innards and play in the goop.  They were in hog heaven.  Adorable.

They're amazing.  Growing like weeds and becoming more and more aware and interested in their world.  Incredible little people.  I'm so blessed to be their momma.  We're getting really pumped for Halloween!  We're trying to get them excited to wear their costumes.  I'm so excited that the holiday season is so close, they'll really be able to enjoy things for the first time.  It will be so fun!

I never thought I could be so excited about a horribly made, mass produced, felt costume.  However, here I am, jumping out of my skin, oh so ready for Halloween!

Here's why:

They showed up on my front porch during lunch and I just couldn't wait to try them on.  I haven't put the rest of the costumes on yet because, honestly I'm afraid that they'll rip them.  We're talking cheap construction here folks.  You know what?  It doesn't matter.  They are adorable!  Right down to the little felt shoe covers.

They didn't know what to think about the hats, but the good news is they kept them on for more than a few minutes.  Seriously hoping it doesn't rain so we'll be able to let them walk around and enjoy being gnomes for an evening :)

We attempted the zoo today.  Mother nature=1, twin families=0.  Well played.  We'll be back to attempt again next weekend (hopefully).  We went shopping instead.  I found the cutest $12 shoes for Coach and $9 footed zipper jammies at the gap for the babies.  Score!  There was more shopping fun to be had, but the daddy had his fill.  I fell asleep in the car and the babies and the daddy hit the beds hard when we got home.  Amateurs. 

I just found out H&M had kids clothes.  My friend C and ooh'd and ahh'd, but came away empty handed.  Online shopping!  Speaking of online shopping, we just ordered the babies Halloween costumes.  I know I said it was a secret, but as usual, my grand plans were shattered by laziness and procrastination :)  They were going to be Tweedle Dee and Dum, but well...I got lazy and decided it was too much work.  It would have been super duper cute though.

Here's what they're going to be instead.

We're pretty excited.  I used to steal yard gnomes with my sorority sisters in college, now I'll be shuttling two little gnomes around on Halloween.  I think they'll be so cute and I hope we can get Coach to keep that beard on!  I think its funny that the girl gnome looks just like Fancy.  Not what I was hoping for, but I think it will still be adorable.  As the daddy says, you're only one and a gnome for Halloween once in your life :)  Do us proud gnomies!

There's a blog on my blogroll called Kara's Party Ideas and they just posted the greatest idea for a birthday party.  Peter Pan.  How amazing is that? 

{Halloween}

How the heck is it almost September?  In September we'll have one and a half year olds.  What!?!  You know what comes next...HALLOWEEN!  I love Halloween!  I'm just starting to think about costumes though, woops.  Last year they were a Lady Bug and a Frog (see HERE).  Super cute, but I want to do something more memorable this year.  No doubt we'll have some fun events with The Unit and our MoM group.  Here are some ideas I've had so far:

She MADE those!  I've been following her blog forever and I just love those costumes. 

So many cute ideas.  Over the course of compiling this post I've decided what I'm doing.  It will be DIY (do it yourself), so who knows how it will turn out.  I'm keeping it a secret.  I realize by doing this, I'm setting myself up to either be wildly successful or an absolute failure.  Fingers crossed they come out the way I have pictured them in my mind!  Hint:  They will be two characters (siblings) from a classic Disney movie.  Now, lets see if I'm able to pull it off!
