{From the mouths of babes}

Coach is OBSESSED with his penis.  Sorry if that's forward, but its the truth.  His hands are always down his pants and during diaper changes his hand shoots down there faster than I can blink.  We don't really say much about it.  We don't want him to be embarrassed or ashamed of being interested in his anatomy.  He did catch me saying "wee wee" once and ever since then he's adopted that term for any naked body part.

Before bath time when we undress them he looks at his sister and points to her and says "wee wee".  We try to tell him that she doesn't have a wee wee (and we tell him what she does have), but he doesn't seem to care.  He'll open doors when the daddy and I are going to the bathroom or showering and yell "wee wee!".  Everything is wee wee.  He has learned boobies and butt-thanks to his father.  He does make that distinction.  When I'm cleaning up his back side when changing his diaper he says "butt".  He's a class act.

They are learning how to clean up their messes.  This is very much a work in progress, but when I ask them to help me put things back into a box (or whatever it may be) they help!  They do get bored and pull everything back out, but hey, its a start.

They can say their names now.  Fancy has a sort of nasal-y take on her name and it comes out sounding like "Eddie".  She does really well with his name.  Coach can say his name well and her name perfectly.  They love Sesame Street so naturally they pick up things from the show.  Whenever Fancy sees an orange or an orange sippy cup (or really anything orange) she yells "Ernie!"...you know because Ernie is orange :)  Bert sounds a lot like "butt" and Elmo comes out like "Memo" without the "M".  The love Abby Cadabby and can say her name with no problem.

They're talking so well, but sometimes they get frustrated when we don't understand what they're saying or what they want.  We ask them to slow down and talk to us.  They repeat "talk".  Only it comes out sounding a lot like "rock"...with a "C".  You follow?  We were in JC Penney a couple weeks ago, in the shirt section, and Fancy was pointing out all the shirts.  "Momma, shit".  "Shit" "SHITTT".  The old southern pearl clutchers were not amused :).

They watch EVERYTHING and usually mimic or repeat what we're doing.  They watched us blow our noses when we were all sick a couple weeks ago.  Coach's favorite thing these days is to find a wipe (or a sock), put it over his nose and make a fart sound with his mouth so it looks like he's blowing his nose.  Hysterical.  He loves to entertain.

Everyday we discover new words of funny new quirks.  They are such little miracles.  Toddlers have their moments (or days), but they are so hysterical you don't even notice.

The weather this past week was gorgeous.  We got to play outside everyday.  We have a Longleaf Pine Tree in our front yard and we sit under it and play with the needles.  I braided a few of the needles and made them bracelets.  We sat in the shade and looked out over the field next to our house.  The sun is low in the sky.  Just starting to consider setting.  Turning an orangy yellow, casting the last warm rays of the day over us.  I wish I could bottle that.  Perfection.
