{Narrowing it down}

I think I'm starting to narrow down what I want to see happen with our living room.  Its a basic, smallish, average room, so its proving to be easy.

I'm still looking for the perfect gray/blue color for the walls, but this is close

Maybe looking for something with a smidge more gray, but I like this soft blue.  Calming and not tan/beige.

We have a buffet in our entry way similar to this (only with less detail and smaller):
Its my dad's so I'm hoping he'll let me refinish it.  On the wall behind the buffet I was hoping to get my hands on this:

Its a mirror.  And on the buffet I thought this lamp:

I'm really liking these curtains:

Currently like these throw pillows:

And I like this for the mantle:

I'm excited.  I feel like I've finally figured out which direction I want to go.  I've been attracted to the light blue gray/orangy red combo for a long time.  I'm hoping it comes out how I imagine it.  I'm still very undecided on the curtains.

Oh and I have to tell you a quick story.

So I met a friend for lunch today and I got there early with the babies.  I was standing in line ordering when an older woman started oooing and ahhing at the twins.  I normally love showing off my babies and talking about how wonderful they are.  I mean you obv know this, you read my blog.  So anyway, she's talking about what a blessing twins are and then, out comes the ignorance.  "So did were you on any kind of hormones or were they a blessing from God?"

As you can imagine I was a little stunned.  I lied.  I said they were spontaneous.  This woman already had her mind made up based on how she asked the question.  When I shook my head "no" in response she let out a big sigh and said (in her stingingly sweet southern accent) "whew, I don't know why anyone would want babies like that anyway."  Um, WHAT?

I didn't get upset, but I'm not gonna lie, it hurt a little.  She was older (probably in her early 70's), so I don't expect her to understand.  Anyway, that was my fun story for the day :)

I was just on the phone with my dad, firming up his visit in Sept, and Fancy said "bye bye, Papa!".  SO cute!
