We went to a recommended dealer (Cadillac, go figure) and while they didn't have what we wanted in their inventory, they wanted to look around and get back to us. On the way home from that dealership we passed the Honda dealership. The same lot we'd passed a million times, lusting after the newest Hondas. We didn't think they'd have anything certified in our price range, but we went to take a look. No Odyssey's in stock. We passed a handful of Pilots on the way in and there was a sticker on the back that said "third row seating" and "8 passenger!". Hmmm.
I bet you can see where this is going.
The dealership was closing, but we decided to go home, talking it over and if we wanted to pursue further we'd come back in the morning. We got home and talked of nothing else. We loved the car, but didn't want to get too attached in case it was sold in the morning or in case we changed our minds.
The Pilot we wanted was still there, still everything we were looking for (but didn't realize it), still begging us to buy it. We test drove it, talked trade-ins and haggled all morning. We finally reached an agreement. Thanks to my superior driving skillz our poor Accord wasn't worth much. "if I could turn back time" sung just like Cher. Oh I could kick myself for being so negligent...so could the daddy. What's done is done and at least we could trade it in. Its going to get fixed up and will be back out on their lot in a short time.
So we're the proud owners of a new (new to us anyway) Honda Pilot!
It was a little bitter sweet to pull away from our Accord. I mean its seen us through our wedding, trips to TX to see M graduate BMT and tech school, move to CO, we brought our babies home in this car, and it got us to NC safe and sound. Its been such a fabulous car. I hope its next owner enjoys it as much as we did.
And to close our this post, pics of the goof balls at lunch!
The other day I was changing Coach's diaper and he was yanking on his penis and I told him "Whoa buddy, lay off your wee wee." Guess what he's been running around saying for the last couple days? It sounds more "Way Way", but he says it all.the.time and points at his diaper when he says it. When we go to change his diaper he shakes his head and says "way way". I guess we'll have to start using "penis" so "way way" or "wee wee" don't stick.
Fancy has been saying a variation of brother for a couple days now. It sounds like "butter". She walks up to Coach and says "butter, awww" and hugs him. They like to hold hands all the time. Its so cute. They both have been saying "sissy" for a while now (that's what we call Fancy). Talking up a storm, walking up a storm, before we know it they'll be having kids of their own. It goes so fast.
