[sick babies]
They've been intermittently sneezing and coughing for a couple weeks. We chalked it up to allergies or the extreme dry Denver air. Last night they both started running fevers and got really congested. None of us slept at all. I've been sick for almost a week with this crud and I was hoping I was being careful enough to not pass it on to my little minis. Shit.
The doc said its a virus and it should run its course within 7-10 days. My poor buggies have to be this miserable for 7-10 days??? Use saline spray to keep the congestion down and tylenol for fevers over 103. She also said this *can* get worse and turn into an upper or lower respiratory infection. No bueno. Especially for our little man who had RDS at birth (he was on o2 until he was 7 weeks old). She said to be EXTRA cautious with him and if we notice anything out of the ordinary to head to Childrens. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. You don't have to tell me twice.
I'm one of THOSE moms. The ones that the ped's hate b/c we call all the time. I've gotten better, but this won't help me relax...that's for sure! This is my first real test. They've been fit as fiddles for the last 8 months. No illnesses at all. Which is amazing for NICU babies (esp an rds baby). I'm sad that they have to feel so awful though :( One plus side is that they're extra cuddly. At 8 months old they're starting to want to touch everything and play, the last thing they want to do is snuggle with momma and daddy. I'm glad I'm the one who comforts them (M too). Its good to be momma :)
Oh I forgot to add that Fancy Face is now 17.1lbs and Coach is 18.6lbs. We've come a long way from 5.2lbs and 4.15lbs!!!
