I cried from minute 1:28 on. He is asked his age (which he doesn't know) and then delves into a heart wrenching story about his childhood in an orphanage in Iraq. He talks of being found in a shoe box with his brother, the violence of the country and meeting his mother for the first time. He then goes on to sing "Imagine" by John Lennon. Just an absolutely soul shattering combination. Amazing. I'm just in awe of this kid.
People like this make me want to work harder EVERY single day to be a better person.
Imagine-John Lennon
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
Holy crap! I just bawled like a big, blubbery baby! That was beautiful!
